Welcome to a brand-new sister site to Åsa Folk High School’s website. At asadalen.se, our full focus is on the democracy festival Åsadalen.

With just about two months to go before this unique event, we are launching the website we hope will serve as a useful guide to everything taking place at the school on 24 May.

Dedicated to the final day
– Since Åsadalen’s final day is primarily aimed at the wider public, we decided to create a website devoted exclusively to that day. The programmes for Thursday and Friday are intended for course participants, staff and invited politicians, and will therefore only be available internally.

That’s according to Henrik Wising, communications officer at Åsa, who developed Åsadalen’s website in close collaboration with his WordPress technical mentor, Mathias Clarstedt, teacher and counsellor at Eskilstuna Folk High School.

Primarily a guide
– For several reasons, we felt there was a need for a website dedicated specifically to the democracy festival. There’s a lot of information we want to share with the public which might otherwise get lost on the school’s main site.

The Åsadalen site’s primary purpose is to guide visitors through the many programme items, with times and locations. The site also includes practical information for visitors, such as food options, parking facilities and amenities on the school grounds.

Ongoing news updates
Naturally, you’ll also find an explanation of Åsadalen’s programme, along with the purpose and aims of the democracy festival. News about the event, programme highlights, participating artists and speakers will be published regularly in the run-up to the finale on 24 May.

– A good deal of the information will also be made available on asafolkhogskola.se and through our social media channels. So, whether you’re already following us or have only just discovered what’s happening here at the school in Sköldinge, you won’t miss anything related to the democracy festival, assures Henrik Wising.
