Åsabandet Terminal 6 live på Eskilstuna Kulturnatt 2025

Åsa’s musicians in focus for Jonzon

When the participants in Åsa’s music course perform in Eskilstuna, it’s more rule than exception that they are captured on camera by a particularly skilled photographer. That was also the case on September 13.

On that date, Eskilstuna Culture Night 2025 was held, with a wide range of events on the programme. Among these were performances by Åsa’s music course.

As on so many previous occasions, photographer Tommy Jonzon turned up with his camera. Over the years he has taken many fine pictures of Åsa’s young musicians, not least when they have performed at Eskilstuna Jazz Club.

Often the supporting act
Jonzon began photographing artists at concerts for the jazz club in 2009.

“At the jazz club I have also had the opportunity to take pictures of the very talented music students from Åsa, who in recent years have often been the supporting act,” he says.

Tommy Jonzon loves photographing expressive artists and finding good angles without making himself too noticeable.

‘A challenge I enjoy’
“Listening to music I enjoy and at the same time trying to capture it in pictures is a challenge I like.”

In total, four bands performed for a large audience at the Munktell Museum during the culture night. Below you can see some of the photos taken by Tommy Jonzon.

You can find more on the school’s Facebook page, or by visiting Tommy’s own Facebook – where you can also see many more photos from various music events.
