A sustainable and fairer world is not an unattainable dream, argues entrepreneur, author, and public debater Johan Jenny Ehrenberg. At Åsadalen, Ehrenberg shows why.

The tour of the performance Hope 2.0 began last year and, according to plan, will continue through 2025. After around ten stops across the country so far this year, Ehrenberg will visit Åsa Folk High School on 24 May.

A self-destructive present
At Åsadalen’s final day, visitors will be infused with the hope that Johan Jenny Ehrenberg seeks to share for the future. In Ehrenberg’s view, it is unthinkable that our bleak, self-destructive present could not be changed.

With Hope 2.0, Ehrenberg instead aims to show that there is a future in which politics is not governed by fear and restriction, but by equality and freedom for all. The performance offers concrete examples of how, together, we can create a more just and sustainable world.

“We have the power to change”
– We have the power to change the world here and now. With Hope 2.0, I show how easy it is to begin. Simply by shifting power to local, collective forces we can become stronger, Ehrenberg says in a press release for the tour.

In the performance, Ehrenberg also highlights concerns about AI development. However, Ehrenberg chooses to see the digital revolution as a constructive tool – one that can give us more time for creative collaboration to tackle the climate crisis and confront threats to democracy.

Inspiring action
Ehrenberg also explores how innovative agricultural methods and microbacteria can contribute to better food production – and the eradication of hunger.

The aim of the tour is to inspire people to think outside the box and to understand that change is possible – as long as we don’t just sit back and wait for someone else to do the work for us.
