International Women’s Day at Åsa was this year marked by the school’s dance courses in collaboration with Åsadalen. The event Who You Calling a Bitch?! became a joyful celebration of women and FLINTA people.

The event on 8 March was free of charge and open to the public. Among those who poured into the school’s dance house were several former participants from Åsa’s street dance courses who had travelled in for the occasion.

Some of them came to duel in the dance battle, while others had been specially invited to serve as judges in the competition.

The atmosphere in Studio 1 was soon buzzing, as the photos below clearly show!

The purpose of the 8 March event was to highlight and celebrate FLINTA people – that is, women, lesbians, intersex people, non‑binary people, trans people and agender individuals.

The organisers chose to do this with a dance party infused with music, cultural history and messages of continued feminist struggle.
