Åsa folkhögskola is delighted to announce one of the headline acts for Åsadalen on 23 May. Visitors to the democracy festival will have the opportunity to meet and be entertained by stand-up comedian and actor Özz Nûjen.
In the run-up to the general election in September, the popular humourist is touring the country with his show Medborgare Nûjen (“Citizen Nûjen”). Over the course of the tour, he will visit a total of 101 locations.
The fact that Nûjen has chosen to stop off at Region Sörmland’s folk high school in Sköldinge is a source of great pleasure for the Åsadalen organising committee.
Nûjen’s nationwide tour has been under way since last autumn. His stated ambition of addressing Sweden’s political climate in the run-up to the election closely mirrors Åsadalen’s own ambitions for the 2026 election year.
Nûjen’s way of combining warm humour with razor-sharp political satire in the show has earned positive reviews and acclaim. For example, Ystads Allehanda has described him as both provocative and quick-witted as he “swings wildly at the right and the left alike, as well as the political centre”.
Özz Nûjen himself has described his role in the show as “the thermometer up the arse of the entire election campaign”.
How much of the show he will bring to the Åsadalen stage remains to be seen. His appearance at the democracy festival, like all events on the final day, will be free of charge for visitors.
