Åsa has a new Director of operations in Region Sörmland. The person in question is already a well-known figure within the region’s cultural sector – not least in Katrineholm.

Region Sörmland has been without a permanent Director of culture and education since the former director, Mikael Palo, left the position in November 2024.

He was then replaced on an interim basis by Hanna Rasmussen, who at the time was Head of library development Sörmland. After a year in the role, Rasmussen has now been appointed as the permanent Director of culture and education.

– It’s very positive for both the employees and the region that we get to keep Hanna Rasmussen in the role. Together, we can now take a more long-term approach to our work, which feels very good, says Regional director Magnus Johansson to regionsormland.se.

Hanna Rasmussen joined Library development Sörmland in 2019. Before that, she was head of the library at Kulturhuset Ängeln in Katrineholm for seven years and had worked in the municipal cultural administration since 2009.

She says she is very keen to continue leading the region’s culture and education activities.

– There are many interesting issues and a great deal happening within the organisation. I’m very happy for the trust placed in me to continue driving our important initiatives and areas together with all our staff.

– I’m also very much looking forward to continuing to bring the culture and education assignments even closer to the rest of the regional operations together with my colleagues in the executive management team.
