Street dance One Style

Locking, popping, breaking, hip-hop, or house. On our specialized street dance course One Style, you can delve into the style of your choice and take your dance to new, high levels.

One Style is a forward-looking profile course for those hungry for valuable experiences and perhaps looking to pursue a career as a dancer.

The course offers the opportunity to learn alongside a dynamic and skilled dance group, experimenting and exploring street dance through freestyling. Its main aim is to build strong individual dance skills, emphasising both foundational techniques and freestyle ability as essential keys.

Purpose of the course

During the 1-year course, we want you to develop as a street dancer, both individually and with your coursemates.

You have significant opportunities to develop your own dance identity by working in small groups and studying various subjects such as history, dance technique, and culture.

At Åsa, we see diversity as a great asset. We work together to create an open and democratic environment where everyone has the opportunity to take space and develop.

Course content

You have three classes per week with your mentor and two sessions per week with your group. Additionally, afternoon courses are offered in various subjects.

Annually in May, participants in Åsa’s street dance courses organize an event now called Back to the Roots. The event attracts visitors from Sweden and abroad for a weekend packed with workshops, seminars, and street dance from morning ’til night.

The main language at Åsa is Swedish, but please note that dance courses are conducted in English.
